Tennessee Smoky Mountians

The Great Smoky Mountains

It is very difficult to talk about one city in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains without talking about the others.  Make no mistake, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are all very separate and distinct towns.  But…if you are visiting one, why would you not take the time to visit all three?

As you make your journey to the Great Smoky Mountains from HWY 40, the first town on our list is Sevierville.  This is by far the newest of the tourist towns.  Here is where you will find the largest indoor water park in the area, Wilderness At The Smokies. You will notice the vast amount of outlet shopping and the beginning of the dinner theaters and other tourist attractions.

The next city you come to on our list is Pigeon Forge.  While not nestled in the mountains, this is where you will start seeing them very clearly!  Many more tourist stops are located right here along the highway.  One of our “Must Stops” every time is The Incredible Christmas Place.  Rooms and rooms of everything Christmas and…if you can’t get enough…walk across the street and spend the night at The Inn at Christmas Place.

The final stop…possible the most famous…is Gatlinburg! Such a special place this is.  Old alpine style buildings are filled with shop after shop for a fun filled day!  The Ripley’s attractions, including the great Aquarium, are located in Gatlinburg.  But…the best reason to visit is the Great Smoky Mountain National Park!

Adventure abounds in this area of Tennessee and if you can’t find something to draw you there, you are not looking! Do a lot of planning and take a lot of notes because you are going to want to visit Sevierville, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg with your family very soon.
