We are in the final days of pre-production for our California shoots and we just wanted to highlight some of the hotels that have sponsored our trip!

We will be with the Omni Hotels & Resorts at Omni San Diego Hotel, The Omni San Francisco Hotel & The Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza!   These beautiful hotels have Kid’s Suites that we are really looking forward to staying in!

The Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach – At the Pier will be our home while we stay at this beach destination!  What a great location for all of our activities at the Pier!

The Loews Lake Las Vegas will be a stay to remember!  When we are in Las Vegas we will enjoy the lake, mountains and resort activities that this Loews has to offer!

We look forward to our visit with each of these different facilities and we will be posting our experiences during the trip as well as after the trip with specific clips!  If you have suggestions for things not to miss at each of these places, please let us know!  We don’t want to miss a thing!

Many have asked us what we have been doing the last several months. With very few updates on the website it seemed as though we fell off the face of the earth. Well…we sort of did.

This past year Evan, the middle “tour guide” of Kiddin’ Around lost his eyesite in one eye. Nearly overnight he went from perfect vision to NO vision. We went on a long journey of visits to hospitals for tests and doctors appointment after doctors appointment. He was finally diagnosed with two very different conditions.

First, he has a brain tumor in one of his sphenoid sinuses. It is not operable at this time and at this point it is believed that it had no bearing on the eyesight.

The other is an odd condition where the brain shuts down on one side causing the eye to just stop working.

We have spent the last several months in daily therapy, and once a week we take a two hour round trip drive to meet with a specialist. His eye/brain has started to respond but not as quickly as any of us would like! That is the nature of humans…it is never good enough! We are told that within 36 – 52 weeks we should see vast improvements. That is our immediate prayer.

As far as the tumor goes…we are sitting and watching. We have been told there is NO chance that it is malignant. We have also been told that it may, or may not, grow. If it does grow it will grow VERY slowly. We will have another round of tests done in three years, assuming there are no neurological changes in the meantime, to determine if there has been any growth.

I know several of you have been praying for us and we really appreciate it. This has been an ordeal that we never anticipated, but we know that God is in control of EVERY aspect of Evan’s life and all of our lives. We praise Him for the news that we have had and the improvements that Evan has made and pray for continued healing in his eye.

As far as the show in concerned…we sat down with the kids and expressed our concern with continuing to film episodes. Would it be too much for Evan? Would being gone cause too much stress on him as he dealt with long hours of therapy? Should we stop? There was an OVERWHELMING response of NO…WE CAN’T QUIT NOW! Evan led the charge of it being so important to have these experiences while we can because we do not know the future.

So, through considerable prayer, Sam and I have decided that until it becomes a hinderance, we would continue with the show. Evan is showing improvements and neither his doctors nor his therapist believe that he will suffer because of it!

So…to that end…we are heading back out on the road for a trip to and through California! This is going to be a great season! Stay tuned!

In the mean time, since we were iced in the last few days, we have started to redesign our website. Over the next month, we will be adding features, videos (we have over 100 coming soon), & more to better serve you.
